Who’s Going Skiing? A mishap with Bananas

After spending a week in the hotel the disheveled crew thought that they needed some fruit. Takman, being the omniscient fruit expert in the area decided to graciously take it upon himself to treat the crew with bananas. Deciding that, after spending $60 at Winn Dixie the day before, that local store was too expensive, he departed for greener pastures in the great land of Publix. Returning victorious he found that the store, although small in stature was fruitful (pun intended) in its offerings. He showed the two large bunches of bananas to Q and Big Guy. Q says, “Wow those are really green.” Big Guy says, “Those just need to ripen a few days. They’ll be good in no time.” Takman agrees and places them in the top drawer of the dresser in the 3-man hotel room. This occurs on Saturday. Tuesday morning, Takman pulls one out to eat for breakfast. He comments, “this is still so green! It’s too cold in this room. We have to turn the heat up so that the bananas ripen.” Big Guy sorely disagrees, saying, “That’s no reason to turn up the heat, Takman!” Takman reluctantly agrees and places them back in the top drawer. Days went by and no change. Finally the crew moved out on Friday afternoon. Takman looked at his purchase in disbelief, questioning himself, “how could these still be green?” Thinking that they just needed more time, he packed them in the box for a move to the condo. Pulling them out later that night after sitting in the warm car all day, he shows them to his dumbfounded roommates. Big Guy exclaims “THOSE ARE STILL GREEN!!!” Q yells, “YO YOU GOT MUTANT BANANAS, DUDE!!!” Takman finally decides to open up the banana on Sunday morning, while the rest of the crew drove six hours to and from Jacksonville for some sort of American sporting event. Takman didn’t know what the big deal was, he could play basketball any time, why did he need to spend money to watch it? Later that night upon a triumphant return from the NCAA Second Round where Q saw his team make it to the Sweet 16 for the first time in more than 30 years. Takman shows the Big Guy the banana in the trash. “Yo, this is so hard still after two weeks. How can this be?” Big Guy simply said, “Maybe you just got a bad bunch of bananas.” The next day at lunch, Takman turns to the Big Guy and asks, “Have you ever heard of green bananas?” Big Guy answers, “Yes you have to cook them before you eat them, not really sure how they taste.” Takman says, “I think I might have bought the wrong bananas.” The crew spent the afternoon looking up recipes to see what they could do with 2 pounds of green bananas.
